SCHWERKRAFT FÜR ANFÄNGER is the third studio album by the Cologne instrumental rock band and already the second album
on Tonzonen Records. As with the previous album Area Fifty-Fun (2022), the recording direction and mixing were placed in the
hands of Lukas Bönschen (Smokemaster). The master was made by former Grobschnitt drummer and founding member Eroc.
For the third time in a row, Der Neue Planet is working with Cologne illustrator Manuel Lambertz ("vonbertz"), who designed
the album's artwork.
The first accent of the album is the artwork. As on the two previous albums, Manuel Lambertz takes up the band's playful and
detailed approach and suggests that Der Neue Planet have remained true to their own style. The humorous titles of the songs
are also a well-known stylistic device of the band.
The album bears the clear signature of the Cologne musicians. The compositions are varied and progressive without falling into
technical tinkering or loud-quiet post-rock clichés.
The band lets loose in five very different pieces and touches on numerous styles from music history without losing their own
melodic recognition value. It is difficult to classify the band into a specific genre. Post and stoner rock elements merge with sounds
from funk to jazz, through kraut and psychedelic rock parts, to hard-hitting metal slaps. As is usual with Der Neue Planet, there is
a lot to discover.
