Reviews / Notes:
Black Moon Circle is a Norwegian space rock band, formed by Øyvin Engan (bass guitar/vocals) and Vemund Engan (guitar) in 2012.
Both brothers used to play in the Trondheim-based punk rock band The Reilly Express. Shortly afterwards, the line-up was completed with the addition of Per Andreas Gulbrandsen on drums. The sound of Black Moon Circle combines prolonged jams with heavy riffage and the extensive use of effects on bass and guitar.
Other bands operating in a similar sonic landscape are Earthless and Colour Haze. The band recorded their debut, a self-titled mini-album, at Nautilus studios in 2013 and the record was released in February 2014 by Space Rock Productions, the label run by the Øresund Space Collective from Copenhagen, Denmark. In April, the band returned to the studio and recorded “Andromeda” during an efficient one-day run.
Released by Crispin Clover Records in cooperation with Stickman Records in October 2014. crispingloverrecords.com
